Apple Stops Samsung from Selling Galaxy Tabs in Australia

The legal saga between Apple and Samsung still continues, even on overseas. Just recently, Samsung has been ordered by a federal court in Australia not to advertise or sell the Galaxy Tab 10.1 Down Under. That is, until the Korean chaebol gets a court approval to do so or until the patent suit by Apple is resolved. And since there are slight differences between the US and Australian versions of the Android-powered tablet, Samsung has agreed to present the device to Apple at least a week before its supposed launch.

Apple has alleged the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has infringed 10 Apple patents, including the look and feel of the iPad. The Cupertino, California-based company also seeks to stop Samsung from selling the tablet in other countries, without specifying exact locations.

Federal Court Justice Annabelle Bennett, who presides the case, has scheduled a hearing on August 29 to review the status of the case and set a trial date if needed.
