Although we have yet to read any actual news (not just rumors and speculations) about the iPhone 5, Wall Street Journal has reported that the next-gen Apple smartphone will appear on Sprint apart from AT&T and Verizon. Citing sources �familiar with the matter,� WSJ claims the iPhone 5 will be shipped on all carriers in mid-October.
Apart from the iPhone 5, WSJ�s source claims that Sprint will also be carrying the iPhone 4 as well, most probably with a discounted price. Enabling to offer the iPhone is a huge boost for Sprint, which is currently the third largest mobile carrier in the United States with 52 million subscribers. Its sales performance has not been impressive lately because it has not been able to sell the iPhone.
The newspaper also reveals what it knows about the iPhone 5, claiming that it will be thinner and lighter than the iPhone 4, but with an improved digital camera and a more sophisticated OS.
