The Sony Tablet S, which we previously refer to as the S1, is projected to be available in the market in the second week of September. It features a 9.4-inch screen with 1,280 x 768 resolution, 3-megapixel front-facing camera, 5-megapixel back-facing imager, a wireless keyboard and dock set-up, and micro-USB. The tablet is said to have the ability to use all devices in the home via its integrated IR blaster, and even the capability to throw media to DLNA-compatible hardware (even if it is not made by Sony).
In the software front, the Sony Tablet S runs on Android 3.1 with a potential to upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich and is preinstalled with PlayStation Certified gaming apps, as well as Sony music, movie, and book services.
