ASUS unveiled details of U46 and U56 notebooks

Despite the fact that the first information on ASUS U46 and U56 laptops appeared about two months ago detailed product specifications have been revealed only now. Both laptops are new generation thin laptops created by Taiwanese company which is reflected both in their appearance and in their features.

Both laptops are built on Intel Huron River platform and as a result are equipped with SandyBridge processors: Core i3-2310M (2,1 GHz), Core i5-2410M (2,3 GHz) and Core i5-2520M (2,5 GHz). Maximum amount of RAM on the laptops - is 8 GB; HDDcapacity ranges from 320 to 750 GB and some spin up to 7200 r / min. In the basic notebooks feature GPU Intel HD 3000 built in; however more expensive models such as U46SV feature NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M graphics card.

The list of other features is not bad: Built-in 0.3 megapixel camera, HDMI videooutput, wireless adapters Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0, as well as two USB 3.0 ports and built-in optical drive, which operates with CDs and DVDs.

ASUS U46 has a 14" display and ASUS U56 - 15,6 inch. Size of U46 - 333 x 245 x 24,6-27 mm, weight - 2.08 kg. Basic model includes 2950 mAh 4-cell battery. If you want maximum battery life reaching up to 10 hours you will have to get a 5900 mAh 8-cell battery.

ASUS has not yet announced the cost of their thin laptops and there is no information on when these gadgets hit the shelves.
